Imagine School at North Port hasn't had much luck against Cardinal Mooney recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Imagine School at North Port Sharks will be playing at home against the Cardinal Mooney Cougars at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Imagine School at North Port took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by an 8-2 margin over Sarasota Christian. The win continues a trend for the Sharks in their matchups with the Blazers: they've now won eight in a row.

Alexis Pereira spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Imagine School at North Port let Cason Boggess and Jacob Lombard run wild. Boggess scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while Lombard scored two runs while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs Lombard has posted since back in March of 2024. Peyton Rassbach was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Cardinal Mooney never let their opponents score on Tuesday. Everything went their way against North Port as Cardinal Mooney made off with an 11-0 victory. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by six runs or more this season.
Colton Hyde looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Cardinal Mooney got a massive performance out of Wyatt Hossenlopp, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Geaglone, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.
Cardinal Mooney always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Port only posted an OBP of .095.
Cardinal Mooney's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Imagine School at North Port, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Imagine School at North Port has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Cardinal Mooney struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
