Ashland-Greenwood had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Douglas County West Falcon 48-0. Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ashland-Greenwood to victory, but perhaps none more so than Derek Tonjes, who threw for 234 yards and four touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes. That's the most passing yards Tonjes has posted since back in September of 2024. Cal Kissinger was in the mix too, providing Ashland-Greenwood with three TDs.
Coming up, Ashland-Greenwood will challenge Wahoo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Douglas County West, they will face off against Nebraska City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
