Groesbeck is 8-2 against Mexia since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Groesbeck Goats will welcome the Mexia Black Cats at 6:00 p.m. Groesbeck's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Mexia's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Groesbeck lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Westwood, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's contest. Groesbeck put the hurt on Westwood with a sharp 17-3 win on Friday. The Goats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by seven runs or more this season.
Braydan Urban was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs but no hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

Groesbeck kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Mexia unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 8-3 to Elkhart.
Austin Williford spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and six unearned) runs on five hits.
At the plate, Braden Wilson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two RBI. Adriano Mendoza was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Groesbeck's victory bumped their record up to 8-2-1. As for Mexia, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.
Groesbeck came out on top in a nail-biter against Mexia in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 8-6. Will Groesbeck repeat their success, or does Mexia have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
