The Northeast Raiders's game on Tuesday was all tied up 29-29 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 70-51 bruising from Houston County.
When it comes to explaining why Northeast lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jatavion Zellner. Despite the final result, he went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points and 1 assists. Another player making a difference was Justyn Taylor, who scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds.
Northeast's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Houston County, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northeast will face off against Mary Persons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Houston County, they will head out on the road to face off against Jones County at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Jones County is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 62.2 points per game.
