4A Narrows recap October 8, 2013
Bellarmine Prep's Nathan Goltermann rumbled for the longest rushing play in 4A Narrows this season in his game against Stadium last week. Goltermann's team beat the Tigers as he sprinted for 183 yards on the play and finished with 94 in all.
Olympia added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating South Kitsap, 28-21. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Bears.
Alex Bouterse was a key player and the best on defense this week as Gig Harbor defeated Mt. Tahoma. The 6-foot-1 sophomore grabbed 1 sack.
Lou Millie threw for 153 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Drew Griffin was the best wideout in the league this week as Bellarmine Prep bested Stadium. Griffin tallied 4 receptions for 84 yards. Garrett McKay helped Bellarmine Prep's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 51 yards.
Thomas Larsen's team's Millie and McKay have formed a dream team this season, leading 4A Narrows in both passing and receiving yards. 5-10 quarterback Millie has thrown for 579 yards this season, while McKay has 14 catches for 280 yards. The Tides' Sterling Brown leads the league in rushing yards with 554.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Central Kitsap takes on Olympia. As it stands, the Cougars are in fifth, while Bill Beattie's team is in second.
Gig Harbor took down the T-Birds 56-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Connor Scanlan threw for 184 yards and 1 touchdown in the win.
