Given Hereford's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while Woodlawn is ranked 158th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Franklin's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 52-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Western Tech & Environmental Science.
Despite the loss, Franklin saw an underclassman step up: Brenden Grace scored 24 points. Morgan Dell was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Hereford pushed their record up to 10-1 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.6 points per game. As for Franklin, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
Hereford came up short against Franklin in their previous matchup back in January of 2017, falling 59-46. Can Hereford avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
