The Lewisville Lions entered their tilt with the C.A. Johnson Hornets with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Lewisville took down the Hornets 45-27 on Friday. That's another feather in the cap for Lewisville, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Lewisville got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Aiyana Murrell out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. Murrell is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Mariah Wallace, who scored 17 points along with two steals.
Lewisville is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for C.A. Johnson, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.
Lewisville will head out on the road to face off against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Governor's School for Science & Math is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. C.A. Johnson will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
