Basketball Game Preview: Bishop Verot Vikings vs. Barron Collier Cougars

Bishop Verot has won six straight games at home, while Barron Collier has won six straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Bishop Verot Vikings will host the Barron Collier Cougars at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Bishop Verot's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.

Bishop Verot's tournament run continued when they took on Neumann on Friday. Bishop Verot came out on top against Neumann by a score of 57-44.

Caroline Ward and Cameron O'Halloran were among the main playmakers for Bishop Verot as the former dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 boards and the latter went 8 for 19 en route to 25 points and six rebounds. The game was Ward's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gwen Pfleger, who posted six points and three steals.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Barron Collier's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 55-42 to Pine Crest. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 226th, while the Panthers are ranked 86th).

Bishop Verot has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points per game. As for Barron Collier, their loss dropped their record down to 13-9.
