Kirbyville lost against Kelly Catholic in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 73-62 score last time.
Kelly Catholic got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Munro Nichols out in front who scored 20 points along with five rebounds. The match was Nichols' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Bodie Moore, who scored 14 points.
Kirbyville has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Kelly Catholic, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-13.
Kirbyville will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Buna at 7:45 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Kelly Catholic and Vidor will round out the year against one another at 2:20 p.m. on Wednesday at. Vidor is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
