Manual Arts is 7-2 against Jefferson since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The pair will face off at 4:30 p.m. on January 24th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Manual Arts has three straight wins, Jefferson has 12 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Manual Arts put the finishing touches on their 13th blowout victory of the season on Friday. They breezed by Santee on the road to the tune of 102-38. Manual Arts' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Devin Moody continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 51 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyle Castillo, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
Jefferson suffered their biggest loss since November 16, 2023 on Friday. They were outmatched by Diego Rivera at home and fell 68-22. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Jefferson in their matchups with Diego Rivera: they've now lost three in a row.
Manual Arts pushed their record up to 19-2 with that victory, which was their tenth straight on the road. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 45.2 points. As for Jefferson, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-10.
Everything came up roses for Manual Arts against Jefferson when the teams last played on January 8th as the squad secured a 90-4 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Manual Arts since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
