The Durango Demons had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They walked away with a 35-27 win over Eagle Valley. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Durango also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Among those leading the charge was Lilly Fitzpatrick, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Katelynn Sheppard, who scored eight points.
Durango's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5. As for Eagle Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.
Durango will head out on the road to take on Grand Junction Central at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Grand Junction Central is ranked 107th, while Durango is ranked 95th). As for Eagle Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Grand Junction at 5:30 p.m. Grand Junction has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
