The West Rebels will square off against the Morristown-Hamblen West Trojans at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. West is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
West barely beat Sevier County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. West blew past Sevier County 10-4 on Friday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Rebels needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.
Isaac Hunter looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Harris Eddins, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Xan Scheidecker, who scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-4.
West lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Morristown-Hamblen West posted their closest victory since April 26, 2024 on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Bearden 7-6. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Paxton Seal was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Charles Dewald was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Bryson Shepard, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
West is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. Morristown-Hamblen West's record is now 7-2.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Saturday. West hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Morristown-Hamblen West struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.7 home runs.
