Even though the West Lincoln Rebels have not done well against the Newton-Conover Red Devils recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. West Lincoln came out on top against Newton-Conover by a score of 40-28. The win made it back-to-back wins for West Lincoln.
Newton-Conover's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Sara Sain, who scored four points along with seven rebounds and two blocks, and Hadleigh Swagger who scored 11 points along with two steals. That's the first time this season that Swagger grabbed two or more steals.
West Lincoln has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-9 record this season. As for Newton-Conover, they have fallen quite a ways from their 25-5 record last season and are now at 3-11.
West Lincoln will be playing at home against West Caldwell at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Caldwell and West Lincoln are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads. Newton-Conover will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Bandys at 6:30 p.m. on January 16th. Hopefully Bandys focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Friday.
