Havelock (N.C.) took the final lead of the game on Saturday as
A J Coplon ran for a touchdown with with 11:00 to go in the third quarter, bringing the team to victory over Concord (N.C.) 55-21.
The Spiders pulled ahead on a touchdown catch by
Pharoh Cooper, and subsequently went into halftime leading 21-20. The Rams scored the winning points with a Coplon touchdown run that came in the third quarter.
A 20-point fourth quarter was enough to cement the win for Havelock, as it pushed the final margin of victory to 34.
Cooper was the top performer for HHS. The senior quarterback threw two touchdowns, ran for one touchdown and caught one touchdown. He has now scored 25 touchdowns on the season.
B.J. Beecher played well for Concord. The senior quarterback threw three touchdowns. He has now scored four touchdowns on the season.
The loss comes after Concord defeated Freedom 27-20 last week.
