The Tartan Titans will head out on the road to square off against the North Polars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tartan knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 13 games -- so hopefully North likes a good challenge.
Even though St. Thomas Academy scored an imposing 57 points on Friday, Tartan still came out on top. Tartan took their game against St. Thomas Academy 65-57. Given Tartan's advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while St. Thomas Academy is ranked 177th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, North pushed their score all the way to 58 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 68-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Woodbury. North has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Brevin Conway, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Ramadan Hassan was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds.
Tartan pushed their record up to 11-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for North, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.
Tartan was able to grind out a solid victory over North in their previous matchup back in March of 2023, winning 55-46. Will Tartan repeat their success, or does North have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
