The Horseshoe Bend Mustangs will venture away from home to take on the Garden Valley Wolverines at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Horseshoe Bend's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season.
Horseshoe Bend took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They walked away with a 15-12 win over Idaho City. While the Mustangs didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Kimber Jones was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2025. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games she's played dating back to last season.
In other batting news, Trin Catherman was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Catherman is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Addy Asher was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Horseshoe Bend always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Garden Valley came into Friday's matchup having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Notus by a score of 22-19 on Friday. Considering the Wolverines' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Horseshoe Bend's record is now 4-1. As for Garden Valley, their record now sits at 2-7.
Everything went Horseshoe Bend's way against Garden Valley in their previous meeting last Wednesday, as Horseshoe Bend made off with a 13-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
