The Lake Fenton Blue Devils will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Goodrich Martians at 5:30 p.m. on February 16th. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Lake Fenton took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 72-36 victory over Owosso. Given Lake Fenton's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while Owosso is ranked 297th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lake Fenton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Savannah "sj" fellenbaum led the charge by dropping a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. "sj" fellenbaum hasn't dropped below 17 points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Emerson Baker, who scored 18 points along with five assists and three steals.
Meanwhile, Goodrich put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Brandon on the road to the tune of 73-29. Goodrich's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Lake Fenton pushed their record up to 14-4 with that win, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 38.6 points. As for Goodrich, their win bumped their record up to 17-0.
Lake Fenton came up short against Goodrich in their previous matchup back in January, falling 44-36. Can Lake Fenton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
