The South Salem Saxons were the 31-26 winner over the Westview Wildcats when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. South Salem fell to Westview 54-48.
Westview was led to victory by Kaleah Medeiros and Dara Oluwafemi. Medeiros scored 18 points, while Oluwafemi scored 25 points along with five rebounds. The contest was Oluwafemi's third in a row with at least ten points.
South Salem has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season. As for Westview, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.
South Salem and North Eugene will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. North Eugene is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. Westview is on the road again on Friday and play against West Linn at 6:30 p.m. on January 5th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oregon (West Linn is ranked 24th, while Westview is ranked 49th).
