Basketball Recap: Lafayette Skates Past Tabb with Ease

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Lafayette walked away with it. They blew past the Tabb Tigers 51-18 on Tuesday. The Rams have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matchups by 21 points or more this season.

MaKayla Keys continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 14 points along with eight assists and five steals. Lafayette is 13-2 when Keys posts three or more steals, but 3-4 otherwise. Makayla Brooks was another key player, scoring 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Lafayette's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.9 points over those games. As for Tabb, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-10 record this season.

Lafayette will venture away from home to take on Hopewell at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Hopewell's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six contests. Tabb does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
