The Almond-Bancroft Eagles will take on the Amherst Falcons at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Almond-Bancroft is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Pittsville get on the board and left with a 20-0 victory on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won ten matches by nine runs or more so far this season.

Riya Ceballos and Sophia Chapa did most of the damage at the plate: Ceballos went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Chapa got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and two RBI. Those three runs gave Chapa a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kerstyn Clark, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.
Almond-Bancroft was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .556. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .538 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Amherst took on Iola-Scandinavia on Monday. The Falcons were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over the Thunderbirds. The game marked the Falcons' most dominant win of the season.
The result came thanks to Sam Nooyen's shutout, as she gave up just five hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Delaney Conner, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Aubrey Chandler was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one triple.
Almond-Bancroft has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Amherst, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Amherst's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Almond-Bancroft has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .502. It's a different story for Amherst, though, as they've only averaged .355. Will they be able to contain Almond-Bancroft's hitters?
Everything went Almond-Bancroft's way against Amherst in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Almond-Bancroft made off with a 10-3 win. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
