Basketball Recap: Chapman Skates Past Broome with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Chapman). Couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up 2024 than the 80-49 stomp they got against the Broome Centurions. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Panthers have posted since January 4th.

Chapman found their leader in sophomore Grayden Humphries, who posted 25 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. The dominant performance gave Humphries a new career-high in boards. Another player making a difference was Josiah Moore, who had 11 points and three steals.

Chapman was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

With the victory, Chapman broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-7. As for Broome, their record is now 4-8.

Chapman wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 63-62 loss against Chesnee on the 28th. As for Broome, they will head out to face off against Greenville H at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
