Despite a strong season so far, The Laguna Creek Cardinals have seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They took a hard 37-23 fall against Del Oro on Friday. While losing is never fun, Laguna Creek can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 226th, while Del Oro is ranked 70th).
Leading Del Oro to victory were Caden Pinnick and Robert Garcia. Pinnick threw for 192 yards and three touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes, while Garcia gained 123 total yards and two touchdowns. Beaux Sauve was in the mix too, providing Del Oro with two touchdowns.
Laguna Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Del Oro, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-4.
Laguna Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Del Oro will face off against Jesuit at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Jesuit is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
