Clintondale extended the longest winning streak in Macomb Area - Bronze this week by beating New Haven, 55-7. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Dragons.
Clawson's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Ty Sparks threw for 235 and 3 touchdowns and Marquian Johnson had 210 yards receiving. On the ground Steven Klein chipped in 60 yards. Nick Magil-Diaz helped Clawson's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 19 yards.
Johnson had a great week catching the football as the Trojans defeated Mt. Clemens. He caught 8 passes for 210 yards.
He went 11-23 with 3 interceptions.
Johnson was the best wideout in the league this week as Clawson beat the Battling Bathers. Magil-Diaz helped Clawson's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 19 yards.
Jim Sparks' team's Sparks and Johnson led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Sparks has thrown for 1,853 yards this season, while Johnson has 52 catches for 1,098 yards. Lincoln's Derrel Stewart leads the league in rushing yards with 526.
Going into this week's contest against East Detroit, the Trojans' Sparks needs 147 passing yards to surpass 2,000 on the season.
The Rockets made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 12,944 from 13,003. The improvement was largely due to a 55-7 victory over New Haven last week.
