Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Vicksburg). Everything went their way against Otsego on Friday as they made off with a 16-5 win. Vicksburg not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 26th (when they won 11-0).
Maddox Rosalin was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Vicksburg got a massive performance out of Mitch Beyer, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Beyer is becoming a predictor of Vicksburg's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 6-7-1 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Liam Cohrs, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Vicksburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.
