They lost to Eagle River on the road by a decisive 48-32 margin on Friday. Bettye Davis East Anchorage was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Eagle River apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Leading Eagle River to victory were Gabby Palozzini and Darby Buyse. Palozzini scored nine points along with 15 rebounds and three steals, while Buyse scored eight points along with ten rebounds and eight assists. Palozzini has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaitlyn Armerding, who scored 17 points.
Bettye Davis East Anchorage dropped their record down to 0-6 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Eagle River, their win ended a 12-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-7.
Bettye Davis East Anchorage will take on Service at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Eagle River, they will head out on the road to challenge South Anchorage at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Anchorage has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
