The Meadowbrook Colts will face off against the Tri-Valley Scotties at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tri-Valley took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Meadowbrook, who comes in off a win.
Meadowbrook barely beat Maysville the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Colts blew past the Panthers 10-1 on Tuesday. That nine-run margin sets a new team best for the Colts this season.
Austin Warner and Braylon Lowery were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Warner struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Meanwhile, Lowery tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those seven strikeouts gave Warner a new career-high. At the plate, Warner got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Lowery went 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brady Arnold, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Cohen Miles, who went 2-for-5 with two runs and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Tri-Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against West Muskingum, falling 11-1. The game marked the Scotties' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Tri-Valley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Blayne Riley, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.
Meadowbrook's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Tri-Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
Thursday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Meadowbrook has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .432. However, it's not like Tri-Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .434. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Meadowbrook suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Tri-Valley when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Will the Colts have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
