Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Brentwood beat Augusta Prep Day 54-49.
Brentwood's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zyion Andrews led the charge by scoring 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Khaden Walker, who scored 16 points.
Meanwhile, Thomas Jefferson Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Augusta Prep Day by a score of 43-40. Thomas Jefferson Academy has not had much luck with Augusta Prep Day recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Brentwood pushed their record up to 12-2 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.2 points per game. As for Thomas Jefferson Academy, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.
Brentwood took their win against Thomas Jefferson Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 73-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for Brentwood since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
