Softball Recap: Pinckney Makes It Seven in a Row at Home

There's no place like home for Pinckney, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They never let the Adrian Maples get on the board and left with an 11-0 win on Monday. Considering the Pirates have won ten matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Jade Chelenyak looked comfortable as she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Emma Fesl, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Makenzie Chelenyak also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Pinckney kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Pinckney pushed their record up to 16-6 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Adrian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Pinckney will have a chance to go back-to-back against Adrian: the pair will be back at it again later today.
