Le Mars can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent game on Tuesday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 69-35 win over Sioux City North. Given Le Mars' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Stars are ranked 216th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Jefferson suffered a rough 65-40 loss at the hands of the Lynx on Tuesday.
Jefferson's loss came about despite a quality game from Grace Strong, who scored 26 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Strong has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandi Jarmon, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Jefferson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Le Mars has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. As for Jefferson, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-15.
Everything came up roses for Le Mars against the Yellowjackets in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 59-22 victory. With Le Mars ahead 31-9 at the half, the game was all but over already.
