Northeast Dubois has gone 9-1 against Shoals recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Jeeps will welcome the Jug Rox at 6:00 p.m.
On Tuesday, Northeast Dubois came up short against South Knox and fell 3-1. The Jeeps have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Northeast Dubois actually scored more points across those four sets (88-84), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 25-18, 7-25, 25-20, 27-25.
Despite the loss, Northeast Dubois saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Addison Elliott had nine digs and one assist. Jenna Vogel also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.
Meanwhile, Shoals hadn't done well against Loogootee recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Jug Rox put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 3-0 win.
Shoals walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-13, 25-23.
Northeast Dubois' defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Shoals, their win bumped their record up to 16-3.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's matchup: Northeast Dubois has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 7.3 aces per game. However, it's not like Shoals struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.3 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Northeast Dubois came out on top in a nail-biter against Shoals when the teams last played back in September of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Jeeps repeat their success, or do the Jug Rox have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
