The Ider Hornets fell victim to the Sand Rock Wildcats''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a serious blow against the Wildcats, falling 34-0. Ider has struggled against Sand Rock recently, as their game on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sand Rock to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kane Robison, who rushed for 175 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.2 yards per carry. Gavynn Cunningham did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 89 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Ider's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-5. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 5.3 points per game. As for Sand Rock, their victory bumped their record up to 1-7.
Ider will be playing at home against Fyffe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fyffe will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak. As for Sand Rock, they will head out on the road to face off against Whitesburg Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Whitesburg Christian Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
