Citrus Hill extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 8-7 in the process. They lost 19-12 to the Lakeside Lancers. Even though they lost, the Hawks' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.5 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Julia Gil made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That double was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailie Hernandez, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
As for Lakeside, their record now sits at 6-13. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
On Lakeside's side, Michaela Alverado and Adryanna Alvarez were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Alverado pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off nine hits. Meanwhile, Alvarez pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Alverado has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Alverado went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double, while Alvarez fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-4. Those four RBI gave Alvarez a new career-high.
