After flying high against South Lenoir last Friday, North Johnston came back down to earth. The North Johnston Panthers fell 27-18 to the Rosewood Eagles on Thursday. It was truly a group effort as Maleek Farris-Teachey, Charlie Barnes, and Tyrece Hicks picked up one apiece. Barnes also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making four total tackles and defending a pass in addition to snagging an interception.
Bryson Hobbs had an outrageously good game for Rosewood as he rushed for 85 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries.
North Johnston's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Rosewood, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.
North Johnston will host Midway at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Midway focused on turnovers this week as team gave up six on Friday. As for Rosewood, they will challenge Southern Wayne at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
