The Stanton Mustangs posted their biggest  win yet this season on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a  56-30 margin over Lyons-Decatur Northeast. Given Stanton's advantage  in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings  (they are ranked 105th, while Lyons-Decatur Northeast is ranked 254th), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
 Stanton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Rebecca Stoddard, who  scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points  Stoddard has scored all season.  Kelby Pohlman was another key contributor,  scoring 15 points along with five  assists and three  steals.
 Lyons-Decatur Northeast lost  despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being   Tavyanna Parker, who  scored two points along with five  blocks. Another player making a difference was  Tristen Parker, who  scored four points.
 Stanton's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Lyons-Decatur Northeast, they are  on a five-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 2-10.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stanton will take on Plainview at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday. Hopefully Plainview focused on turnovers this week  since the team gave up 23 last Tuesday. As for Lyons-Decatur Northeast, they will look to defend their home court  on Monday against Tekamah-Herman. Tekamah-Herman is hoping to put an end to  a seven-game streak of away losses.
