Teiyon Halbasch Turns in Season-Best  Performance
 Layton came up short  on Thursday despite  Teiyon Halbasch delivering his best game to date. Halbasch picked up 307 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He torched the secondary when he pulled down a catch that went for 80 yards.
 Layton is  on  a  four-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 4-5. They and Weber are set to duel  on Wednesday.

Big Game from Hoopes As Farmington Won 28-20
 Farmington picked up their third consecutive win   on Thursday thanks in part to  Travis Hoopes. Hoopes did his part (and then some), rushing for 145 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry for the 'W'. He has become a key player for Farmington: the team is 3-1 when he posts  at  least  two  rushing touchdowns, but 1-4 otherwise.
 Farmington has  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record  this season. Hoopes and Farmington will be playing in front of their home fans against Fremont  at 7:00  p.m.  on Wednesday.

Owen Simkins Delivers Best  Effort of Season
 On Thursday, Fremont got the W thanks in part to  Owen Simkins playing the best football he has all season. Simkins rushed for 43 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 85 receiving yards and a touchdown. He torched the secondary when he pulled down a catch that went for 70 yards.
 Simkins will try to repeat (or improve) on that dominant  effort when he faces off against Farmington on Wednesday. Simkins will face off against  Travis Hoopes on Wednesday, the Phoenix's star running back. Will the  contest be decided in the trenches? We'll have our answer very soon.

Bode Sparrow Goes Supernova in Davis Defeat
  Bode Sparrow's receiving tear continued  on Thursday as he dropped his third-straight game with 101+  receiving yards dating back to last season. He picked up 109 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He is becoming a predictor of Davis's success: when he posts  at  least 100  receiving yards the team is 5-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't).
 Davis' loss  ended  a  ten-game streak of wins at home  dating back to last season and  dropped them to 6-3. Sparrow and Davis will venture away from home to  square off against Syracuse  at 7:00  p.m.  on Wednesday.

A Season-Best  Performance from  Jett Salmon Leads Farmington over Davis
 Farmington was led to victory by  Jett Salmon, who turned in his biggest game of the season  on Thursday. Salmon picked up  two  sacks, forced a fumble,  and made nine total tackles.
 For the year,  Salmon  has averaged 6.8 total tackles per game  and for the season has 6 sacks.
