The New Richmond Lions will be playing at home against the Taylor Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. New Richmond has now lost nine straight, leaving the team is hunting for their first win since January 12.
New Richmond struggled with assists on Saturday (Goshen had eight more) and sadly the final score reflected it. New Richmond lost to Goshen at home by a decisive 64-49 margin. While losing is never fun, New Richmond can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 603rd, while Goshen is ranked 81st).
Despite their defeat, New Richmond saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Luke Wolf, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Wolf hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylan Utter, who scored 13 points along with three steals and three blocks.
Meanwhile, Taylor unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They took a hard 50-32 fall against Indian Hill. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Taylor in their matchups with Indian Hill: they've now lost three in a row.
New Richmond has not been sharp recently as the team has lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for Taylor, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-8.
