After losing to the Tri-County North Panthers the last time they met, the Troy Christian Eagles decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Troy Christian snuck past Tri-County North with a 45-40 victory on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Troy Christian.
Troy Christian found their leader in underclassman Reign Wilkins, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Wilkins continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Lavy, who scored seven points along with 14 rebounds and four steals.
Troy Christian's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-5. As for Tri-County North, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Troy Christian will take on Bethel at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bethel is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak. Tri-County North will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Twin Valley South at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd.
