The Durham Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Pierce Bears at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Durham is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
Last Friday, things could have been worse for Durham, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 20-6 loss to Winters.
Meanwhile, Pierce had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They claimed a resounding 28-0 victory over East Nicolaus on the road. The result was nothing new for Pierce, who have now won five contests by 22 points or more so far this season.
Pierce's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Austin Jorge, who threw for 57 yards and two touchdowns, and Nathaniel Macintosh, who picked up 43 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Winters' win bumped their season record to 5-2 while Durham's loss dropped theirs to 2-6.
