Softball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Horizon's Ninth in Last Ten Outings

Horizon got themselves on the board against Davenport on Tuesday, but Davenport never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Broncos. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Maryn Neely, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Jordan Schwenneker was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Horizon has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Davenport, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-7 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Horizon will head out to square off against Apopka at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Hawks 0.9, the Blue Darters 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Davenport, they are taking a road trip to challenge Bishop Moore at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
