The Pomeroy Pirates entered their tilt with the Sunnyside Christian Knights with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Pomeroy took their game at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 62-0 victory over Sunnyside Christian. Considering Pomeroy has won seven matchups by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
It was another big night for Oliver Severs, who rushed for 190 yards and five touchdowns on only 12 carries. Severs hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Levi Bowen, who rushed for 121 yards on only seven carries.
Pomeroy's win was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-1. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 49.6 points. As for Sunnyside Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pomeroy will face off against Yakama Nation Tribal at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Yakama Nation Tribal comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Sunnyside Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against DeSales at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
