Wilcox Central waltzed into their contest on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They walked away with a 66-54 win over the Calhoun Tigers. For the Jaguars, this counts as revenge for the 63-54 victory the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2021.

Wilcox Central's win bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Calhoun, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wilcox Central won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Clarke County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wilcox Central knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Clarke County likes a good challenge. As for Calhoun, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Luverne at 5:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
