On Monday, Bloomfield was able to grind out a solid win over Weequahic, taking the game 59-50.
Weequahic's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyhir Barlow, who scored 19 points along with two steals. That was a full 38% of Weequahic's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hekeimu Williams, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Bloomfield's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Weequahic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.
Bloomfield will face off against Columbia at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Weequahic, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Varsity Opponent on January 16th. Varsity Opponent has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 444 points over their last six games.
