After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Middlesex, the Chincoteague Ponies were happy to have found some success on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Worcester Prep with a sharp 60-40 win. This was payback for Chincoteague, who suffered a 54-51 loss the last time these two teams met.
Chincoteague's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jake Harper, who scored 15 points along with 6 assists and 6 steals. The matchup was Harper's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Harper, who scored 19 points along with 8 rebounds.
Chincoteague's win bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Worcester Prep, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chincoteague won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Salisbury Christian at 6:00 p.m. on December 7th. As for Worcester Prep, they will head out on the road to face off against The Gunston School at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
