Manchester has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 24 points or more this season. They took their contest on the road on Thursday with ease, bagging a 77-33 win over Midlothian. Given Manchester's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while Midlothian is ranked 132nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Mia Woolfolk continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 23 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. The matchup was her seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Rayne Wright, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and six steals.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Highland Springs beat Steward 54-48 on Saturday. The victory was just what Highland Springs needed coming off of a 68-41 defeat in their prior matchup.
Manchester pushed their record up to 6-1 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 45 points. As for Highland Springs, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
