Lanier is 9-1 against McComb since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Lanier Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the McComb Tigers at 7:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Lanier is ranked 122nd, while McComb is ranked 101st).
Last Monday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Lanier beat Wingfield 47-41. The victory was just what Lanier needed coming off of a 75-36 loss in their prior match.
Meanwhile, McComb scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They strolled past Wingfield with points to spare, taking the game 74-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Lanier is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-12 record this season. McComb's record is now 15-7.
Lanier strolled past McComb in their previous matchup on January 9th by a score of 72-54. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lanier since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
