Even though the Shelbyville Golden Bears have not done well against the East Central Trojans recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Shelbyville walked away with a 30-21 victory over East Central. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Shelbyville has scored all season.
It was another big night for Ava Wilson, who scored 17 points along with three steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for nine straight games. Ella Johnson was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with 11 rebounds and two blocks.
Shelbyville is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. As for East Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-15.
Shelbyville will square off against Franklin Community at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Franklin Community comes in on 15 and Shelbyville on three. As for East Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Connersville at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Connersville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Saturday.
