After flying high against the Dighton Hornets last Friday, the Trego Golden Eagles came back down to earth. Trego was the victim of a tough 55-34 defeat at the hands of Hodgeman County on Tuesday. Trego found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post ten fewer assists than your opponent.
Trego's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dani Shubert, who scored 9 points along with 6 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Annabelle Malsam, who scored 9 points.
Hodgeman County can attribute much of their success to Morgan Ruff, who scored 31 points along with 7 rebounds. Taylor Bamberger was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Trego's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Hodgeman County, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Trego will stay at home for another game and welcome Victoria at 3:00 p.m. on December 8th. As for Hodgeman County, they will head out on the road to face off against Osborne at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
