The Jefferson Dragons's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Spoto Spartans at 8:00 p.m. on February 1st. Jefferson will be strutting in after a win while the Spartans will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Tuesday, Jefferson beat the Longhorns 64-54. The win was just what Jefferson needed coming off of a 52-30 loss in their prior match.
Lazzaro Ford continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 25 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Jefferson's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emanuel Robinson, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, Spoto was beaten by the Terriers 74-41 on Tuesday. Spoto has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Jefferson's win bumped their record up to 9-15. As for Spoto, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season.
Jefferson came up short against the Spartans in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 67-59. Can Jefferson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
