Even though the Giles County Bobcats scored an imposing 57 points on Tuesday, the Marshall County Tigers still came out on top. Marshall County sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 60-57 victory over the Bobcats. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Marshall County.
Marshall County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jamahl Gentry led the charge by scoring 23 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Gentry hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. Xavier Mosley was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.
Marshall County is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for Giles County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-8.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Central Magnet the next time they take the court. Giles County will host Central Magnet at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Marshall County will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
