The New Richmond Lions were the 66-65 winner over the Goshen Warriors when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. New Richmond lost to Goshen on the road by a decisive 68-52 margin on Friday. New Richmond has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brady Young, who scored 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Young has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylan Utter, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Goshen to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caden Zeinner, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds. The matchup was Zeinner's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Bray Settelmayer, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
New Richmond now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Goshen, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1.
New Richmond won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Anderson at 3:00 p.m. on December 9th. Hopefully Anderson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Friday. As for Goshen, they will head out on the road to face off against Western Brown at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
